Pentagon UFO Files Reveal Silent Black Triangle and Skinwalker Ranch Reports
A mysterious black triangular object reportedly witnessed by federal agents, investigations into strange creatures near Skinwalker Ranch, and decades-old UFO encounters are among the discoveries in the latest release of US government documents.
On the 23rd October 2026, the Pentagon published its seventh batch of unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP) records as part of an ongoing disclosure programme known as the Presidential Unsealing and Reporting System for UAP Encounters (PURSUE).
This new release contains 28 documents, including an investigation into a remarkable aerial encounter in the western United States earlier this year.
According to the newly released reports, federal law enforcement personnel observed a silent, matte-black triangular object that appeared to rise vertically above a mountain ridge, hover briefly and then disappear into a canyon at extraordinary apparent speed.
Other documents revisit investigations into unusual activity around Utah’s famous Skinwalker Ranch, including reports of mysterious lights, strange creatures and scientific attempts to identify possible physical evidence.
But what do the latest Pentagon files actually reveal?
Federal Agents Report Encounter With Silent Black Triangle
Perhaps the most interesting discovery in the latest release concerns an incident investigated by the Pentagon’s All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO).
The encounter reportedly took place in 2026 near a sensitive government facility somewhere in the western United States. The precise location and date have been withheld from the publicly released records.

According to an AARO memorandum, three federal law enforcement personnel were involved in observing an unidentified object against the evening sky.
The object was described as a matte-black triangular craft, approximately 13 to 15 feet across, with a remarkably thin, featureless appearance.
Witnesses reported seeing no visible cockpit, windows, rotors, engines or other conventional aircraft features.
What happened next made the encounter particularly strange.
A Vertical Ascent Followed by Complete Silence
According to the witnesses, the object rose vertically above a mountain ridge, climbing an estimated 200 to 300 feet in approximately ten seconds.
Throughout the ascent, it reportedly maintained a level orientation without tilting or wobbling.
It then appeared to stop abruptly and hover motionless for around twenty seconds.
The witnesses described an absence of engine noise, rotor sounds or other audible indications of propulsion.
One observer reportedly used a handheld thermal monocular and described a relatively uniform thermal appearance, without the concentrated heat sources normally associated with aircraft engines.
The object then allegedly accelerated from its stationary position, banking sharply and descending into a nearby canyon.
The entire final manoeuvre was estimated to have lasted only two or three seconds before the object disappeared behind the surrounding terrain.
Despite its apparent speed, witnesses reported hearing no sound.
Was the Object Travelling at Fighter-Jet Speeds?
The AARO report records that the witnesses compared the object’s apparent speed to that of a military fighter jet.
However, an important point should be made.
The object’s speed was not independently measured by radar or another instrument.
Instead, the estimate was based on the witnesses’ visual observations and their assessment of the surrounding landscape.
Similarly, the reported size and distance were estimates derived from the object’s appearance relative to local terrain features.
These details make the account interesting, but they do not establish that the object demonstrated capabilities beyond known technology.
The report also notes that a search of the canyon the following morning found no wreckage, damaged vegetation or evidence of an impact.
The publicly released material does not establish what the witnesses encountered.
New Documents Revisit Skinwalker Ranch Investigations
The seventh release also includes material connected to investigations around Skinwalker Ranch, the Utah property famous for reports of UFO sightings, unexplained phenomena and alleged encounters with unusual creatures such as Skinwalkers.

Among the records is a detailed investigation conducted in March and April 2010 by Bigelow Aerospace Advanced Space Studies (BAASS).
The organisation carried out research connected with the US government’s Advanced Aerospace Weapon System Applications Program (AAWSAP).
The newly released report describes interviews with local residents and efforts to collect physical evidence relating to unusual activity around the ranch.
Investigators documented accounts of unidentified lights, strange animal-like creatures and other experiences reported by people living in the surrounding area.
Some witnesses described large, dog-like creatures allegedly capable of running on two legs.
Others reported smaller hairy figures, unusual animal sounds and mysterious glowing objects.
These accounts formed part of the investigation, although the report does not demonstrate that the creatures existed or that the experiences had supernatural causes.
What Did Investigators Discover?
The BAASS investigation involved more than collecting eyewitness accounts.
Researchers installed wildlife cameras, examined reported animal tracks, gathered hair samples and carried out environmental measurements.
The report also describes experiments involving plants that investigators hoped could reveal unusual environmental effects.
One interesting aspect concerns hair samples collected following reported encounters with unidentified creatures.
Rather than revealing evidence of an unknown species, laboratory analysis identified the tested samples as consistent with ordinary animals.
Three samples produced canine DNA results, while another was identified as raccoon hair.
The findings demonstrate why the distinction between an extraordinary eyewitness report and independently verified physical evidence matters.
Although investigators recorded a wide variety of unusual claims, the biological testing described in the documents did not establish the existence of an unknown creature.
The newly released material nevertheless provides an unusual glimpse into the methods used by researchers investigating the ranch and surrounding area more than fifteen years ago.
Historical UFO Sightings Also Included
The October release is not limited to recent incidents or the investigation of Skinwalker Ranch.
It also contains historical records from the early Cold War period, including reports involving aircraft and unidentified objects observed during the 1940s and 1950s.
Among the material are accounts associated with Catalina Island off the coast of California, as well as reports involving aviation incidents overseas.
These historical records offer another opportunity to examine how military and government agencies documented unusual aerial observations long before the modern term UAP became widely used.
Other documents concern government discussions about identifying and recovering objects or fragments believed to have originated from space.
However, the inclusion of such records should not be interpreted as confirmation that extraterrestrial spacecraft were recovered.
They reflect historical reporting, investigations and administrative discussions, each of which requires consideration in its original context.
What Is the Pentagon’s PURSUE Programme?
The Presidential Unsealing and Reporting System for UAP Encounters is an ongoing US government initiative to make selected UFO and UAP-related records publicly accessible.
The first collection was published in May 2026, with subsequent releases containing historical reports, investigative material and other government records.

The Pentagon’s ongoing UAP disclosure programme has made previously unreleased reports and investigations available to the public.
The seventh release follows the sixth batch, published in September, which I previously covered.
The Pentagon has indicated that further records will be released as the programme continues.
For researchers and those interested in the history of UFO investigations, the expanding archive offers an opportunity to examine documents that were previously difficult for the public to access.
However, the release of a government document does not automatically verify every claim contained within it.
Eyewitness testimony, preliminary assessments, investigative hypotheses and confirmed findings must be considered separately.
Do the New UFO Files Provide Evidence of Extraterrestrial Activity?
Despite the extraordinary nature of some of the accounts, the seventh release does not establish that extraterrestrial spacecraft or supernatural creatures have been discovered.
The black triangle report documents an encounter that witnesses could not identify, but the publicly available material does not provide enough independently verifiable evidence to determine the object’s origin.
Similarly, the Skinwalker Ranch investigation contains unusual eyewitness descriptions, yet the physical evidence discussed in the report does not confirm the existence of unknown animals or paranormal entities.
That does not mean every reported observation has been satisfactorily explained.
It means the available evidence does not support a definitive conclusion.
For anyone following the continuing debate surrounding UFO disclosure, the latest release raises interesting questions about what witnesses reported, how those reports were investigated and what further information might eventually become available.
More Pentagon UFO Files Expected
With seven collections now released during 2026, the US government’s UAP disclosure programme continues to attract attention.
The latest documents stand out because they bring together a relatively recent encounter involving federal personnel, historical UFO reports and previously unreleased details of investigations around Skinwalker Ranch.
The reported black triangle is particularly interesting because of the witnesses’ descriptions of its appearance, silence and unusual movements.
Yet its identity remains unconfirmed.
As further documents become available, researchers will be looking for additional evidence that might help explain the incidents described in the government records.
For now, the seventh release offers another fascinating chapter in the continuing investigation of unidentified phenomena.
