Cosmic Horror Sci-Fi Boneless Arrives on DVD

A wrong turn leads to an alien world and an intergalactic war in Boneless, an independent cosmic horror and science-fiction movie that has now been released on DVD in the United States.

Directed by Dario Bagatin, Boneless was released on DVD on September 22 through Wild Eye Releasing, bringing its unusual mixture of science fiction, horror, action and alternate realities to home audiences.

The story follows a couple travelling to Venice on a business trip who encounter a mysterious hitchhiker along the way. After offering the stranger a ride, their seemingly ordinary journey takes a bizarre turn that leads them somewhere they could never have imagined.

A Wrong Turn Into Another Reality

Instead of arriving at their intended destination, the couple find themselves stranded on an unknown planet in the middle of an intergalactic war between humans and aliens.

With no obvious way home, they are forced to travel through unfamiliar alien worlds while trying to survive the dangers surrounding them.

Their struggle eventually draws them deeper into the conflict, where they join an alien resistance fighting against human invaders. What began as a desperate attempt to return home soon becomes a battle that could have consequences not only for the alien world, but for Earth as well.

Blending cosmic horror with science fiction and action, Boneless uses the idea of accidentally crossing into another reality as the starting point for a much larger alien adventure.

Cosmic Horror Meets Science Fiction

Boneless is an Italian production originally released in 2023, with a running time of 85 minutes and English dialogue.

Rather than sticking to a single genre, director Dario Bagatin combines the unsettling atmosphere of cosmic horror with alien worlds, intergalactic warfare, survival and action.

The film has also picked up more than 20 awards at international film festivals.

Its US DVD release through Wild Eye Releasing forms part of the film’s continuing international rollout and introduces Boneless to a wider audience of independent horror and science-fiction fans.

Boneless is available on DVD in the United States from September 22, 2026.
