Aah Most Haunted, the TV show that started off in the UK back in 2002.
It was probably one of the very first ghost hunting TV shows which kicked off all the current Ghost hunting TV shows we can watch today.
I used to watch it all the time back in the early days. Fronted by ex Blue Peter presenter Yvette Fielding and her team, hoping they would capture proof of the paranormal.
Their live Halloween special shows were good too (apart from adverts every 5 minutes), however a few years later the show took a dive in my opinion.
It became laughable and rumours that some of the things that they were capturing and recording were being faked came to light.
During one of their live shows, one of their crew members ‘Karl, Yvette’s husband’ was seen throwing a knife onto the floor only to blame it on the paranormal. The Most Haunted Live forums went into melt down!
Also their resident Psychic Derek Acorah was shown up to be a fake by picking up on the name Rik Eedles, the name of a spirit at a location they were investigating at the time, only that Rik Eedles was a name made up hours before the show by a skeptic and they mentioned it in passing. Rik Eedles was an anagram of Derek Lies.
So this brings me to this new footage from the new season of Most Haunted which they say they filmed during an investigation at Wentworth Woodhouse in South Yorkshire, UK.
They say they have captured compelling evidence of the paranormal by capturing a ghost on film.
Yvette Fielding has described the footage as ‘ground-breaking’. The footage shows a male looking figure walking down a dark corridor and up some stairs.
Just before the figure appears they asked “if you’re here. walk up this corridor” after they had heard footsteps.
Crew members Stuart and Karl start to run after the figure only for it to have disappeared.
Yvette said “In the 17 years we’ve been doing Most Haunted we’ve always wanted to capture a ghost on camera
“We’ve caught so many different kinds of phenomena: objects moving on their own, voices. But this is the first time that we’ve caught a man walking – in what appears to be slow motion up some stairs.’
She also claims that she seen the same figure but from a different angle.
She said “I was walking towards the stairs from a different direction and along with another crew member I saw the dark shape of a man walking up the stairs.
“When I saw the footage at the end I knew we had caught something. But I wasn’t sure we had got it on camera. It was only when we edited it that I saw it and I burst
“I was so gobsmacked – I was properly sobbing.”
Yvette’s husband Karl who is also one of the crew added “We were looking down the corridor and discussing where we heard the footsteps when literally out of the blue we saw a figure in the distance walking up the stairs.
“Stuart ran straight after it but we couldn’t find anything in any of the rooms.’
“When they told Yvette about the sighting, she claimed to have seen what she thought was Stuart walking up the stairs.
“I said: “You couldn’t have seen Stuart walking up the stairs, you’d have seen us run up the stairs,”‘
‘She said: “I did see Stuart because I said are you OK and he ignored me.” But I told her she couldn’t have because he was with me at that time.
‘That was what made it special for me because you always try to get two independent people to see the same thing from different angles.’
He added: “We’ve never seen anything like this before and we really don’t have an explanation for what we saw but the replay of the filming, clearly shows the vision in detail. It’s a weird, weird place.”
People often claim to have experienced paranormal events at Wentworth Woodhouse. Dark shadows have been seen along with doors slamming, objects being thrown and chairs appearing in different areas.
Also there have been numerous witnesses of a large ghostly figure of a man walking along the corridors.
Now after watching this footage a good few times I’m very skeptical. The ghost looks like it is wearing modern-day clothes, possibly jeans. To me it’s either CGI or a living person.
Anything Most Haunted do I can no longer take seriously.
What do you think?
